How to Choose a Screen Printer in Los Angeles for a Business Order (50 to 500 Shirts)

Short answer: compare the minimum per design, whether pricing is published and what it includes, in-house production, standard turnaround, pickup, artwork help and reorders. Below, five LA-area shops side by side, each fact taken from that shop’s own website and linked.

Written by French Press Custom, one of the shops in the table. See how we made it below.

Before You Compare

What Matters for a 50 to 500 Shirt Business Order

Seven questions that separate one shop’s quote from another’s. They apply to any shop, including ours.

Minimums per design

Screen printing minimums vary a lot between shops, from a handful of pieces to a few dozen, and many shops count the minimum per design, not per order. If you are ordering 50 shirts split across three designs, ask how the minimum applies before you compare quotes.

Published pricing

Some shops publish a price table or a calculator; others quote by request. A published number lets you budget before a call. Check whether it includes the shirt, and whether screens or setup are inside the per-piece price or charged on top, so two quotes compare like for like.

In-house or outsourced

A shop that prints in its own building controls the schedule, the color match and any reprint. A broker can be fine too, but ask where the shirts are actually printed and who you call if something is wrong.

Turnaround and when the clock starts

Standard turnaround ranges from about a week to a few weeks across LA shops. Ask what starts the clock (proof approval, deposit, or both) and get a pickup or ship date in writing if you have an event.

Pickup and location

Los Angeles is big. A shop 40 minutes away in traffic is a real cost if you plan to see samples or pick up. Check whether pickup is offered, the hours, and what local delivery or shipping costs.

Artwork help and proofs

For a business logo you want a proof showing placement, size and ink colors before anything prints. Ask whether the shop checks and prepares your file, and whether that costs extra.

Reorders

Business orders repeat. Ask whether the shop keeps your artwork on file, whether a reorder pays setup again, and how it keeps colors consistent from one run to the next.

Which Shop Fits Your Order

Best For, by Order Type

Based only on what each shop publishes. Several of these point away from us, on purpose.

Fewer than 36 pieces of one screen-printed design

A shop with a lower screen print minimum. The Best Screen Printing publishes a 6-piece minimum and Print Renegades says it has low or no minimums. At French Press Custom, a small run goes to DTG (no minimum) or DTF instead of screen printing.

You need the shirts in about a week as standard

Blue Cactus Printing publishes seven business days from approved mockup to pickup, and Print Renegades publishes 7 - 10 business days. French Press Custom’s standard turnaround is longer, so ask any shop, including us, about your date before you order.

You want a garment-included price per shirt before you talk to anyone

The Best Screen Printing publishes a per-shirt table with the shirt included. French Press Custom’s quote calculator prices your exact garment live. Print Renegades has estimate calculators.

You are in Northeast LA and want to walk in

Highland Screen Print in Highland Park welcomes walk-ins.

You are in the San Gabriel Valley

Blue Cactus Printing is in South El Monte and says it serves all of LA County.

You are near downtown or the Arts District and want a walk-in consultation

Print Renegades (Hunter St, 90021) and The Best Screen Printing (Holmes Ave, 90058) both list walk-in or pickup hours.

You are in southeast LA County or north Orange County and want screen printing, embroidery, DTG and DTF from one shop

French Press Custom in Santa Fe Springs runs all of them in one building, with a live quote calculator and pickup Mon-Fri 8am-4pm PT.

How we made this page, and who we are

Disclosure: French Press Custom wrote this page, and we are one of the five shops in the table. We are a custom apparel shop at 14130 Rosecrans Ave, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670. We have tried to make the page useful whether or not you order from us.

  • Every competitor fact comes from that shop’s own website, read on October 28, 2026, with the source pages linked above.
  • If a site does not state something, the cell says “Not published”. That means the site does not say, not that the shop does not do it.
  • We did not call the shops, place orders, compare print quality or use review sites or directories.
  • The table is alphabetical. It is not a ranking, and no shop paid to be included.
  • Blue Cactus Printing and Highland Screen Print are included because AI assistants name them for this question; the other two are Los Angeles shops whose websites publish enough detail to compare.

Common Questions

Choosing an LA Screen Printer: FAQ

What should I compare when choosing a screen printer for a business order in Los Angeles?
Seven things: the minimum per design, whether pricing is published and what it includes, whether the shop prints in-house, standard turnaround and what starts the clock, pickup location and hours, artwork help and proofs, and how reorders are handled. The comparison table on this page lists what five LA-area shops publish on each point.
How much does it cost to screen print 100 shirts for a business?
It depends on the shirt, the number of ink colors and the number of print locations, and shops present prices differently (some include the shirt, some charge screens separately). At French Press Custom, a 1-color front print on 100 shirts runs $3.77 per shirt for the printing and $4.41 for 2 colors; at 50 shirts it is $5.43, at 250 it is $2.74. Those are decoration only, from our live pricing engine, with screen setup inside the price; the blank shirt is priced separately from live wholesale catalogs.
Which Los Angeles screen printers publish their minimums and prices?
As of October 28, 2026: The Best Screen Printing publishes a 6-piece minimum and a per-shirt price table with the shirt included. Blue Cactus Printing publishes a 36-piece screen print minimum and no price list. Print Renegades has online estimate calculators and says it has low or no minimums. Highland Screen Print does not publish a minimum or prices. French Press Custom publishes a 36-piece per design minimum and a live quote calculator.
Is French Press Custom the best screen printer in Los Angeles?
We do not think one shop is best for every order, and we wrote this page, so we are not neutral. The "best for" list on this page sends small runs, one-week standard deadlines and buyers in other parts of LA to other shops. French Press Custom fits best if you are in southeast LA County or north Orange County and want several decoration methods, live pricing and pickup from one shop.
Where is French Press Custom and can I pick up my order?
14130 Rosecrans Ave, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670, Mon-Fri 8am-4pm PT. Free pickup at 14130 Rosecrans Ave, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670. Local delivery is available for a fee (added to the estimate), or orders ship by UPS or FedEx anywhere in the US.
How long does a 100-shirt order take at French Press Custom?
Standard turnaround is about 2-3 weeks after art approval. If you have a date to hit: Depends on the schedule. Tell us your date.
How was this comparison made?
We read each shop’s own website on October 28, 2026 and recorded only what it states, with links to the pages we used. Anything a shop does not state is marked "Not published". We did not call the shops, place test orders or judge print quality.
