A front-panel logo on custom beanies runs $7.88 to $9.03 per hat at our 24 piece embroidery minimum, plus the blank and a one-time $45.00 digitizing fee. Knit caps stretch, so we stitch every beanie over a stabilizer that keeps the logo tight while the knit keeps its give.
Beanies are the winter workhorse of custom headwear: one size, no fitting problems, and a cuff that doubles as a built-in billboard. Breweries, crews that work early mornings, ski trips, and holiday merch drops all lean on them.
Embroidering a stretchy rib knit is a different job than hitting a structured cap. We hoop beanies with a cutaway stabilizer behind the cuff so the stitches stay dense and flat while the knit still stretches over the head. Skipping that step is how logos end up wavy, and it is the difference you can see between a pro run and a hobby machine.

Price this blankFor knits we recommend two decorations: direct embroidery on the cuff, or a patch. Embroidery over stabilizer gives the classic stitched look and holds up to seasons of wear and washing. Leather, suede, and woven patches sew onto chunky knits cleanly and carry fine detail the knit itself would swallow. Screen printing and transfers do not sit well on deep rib texture, so we do not push them on beanies.
| Method | Best for | Starts at |
|---|---|---|
| Embroidery | Logos and lettering, flat or 3D puff; the premium standard on caps | 24 pieces |
| Patches | Woven or leather badges; fine detail and retro looks, sewn or heat-sealed | Quoted with your hat order |
| DTF transfer | Full-color art, gradients, and photo-style designs | 12 pieces |
| Heat transfer vinyl | Simple one-color marks on small runs | 6 pieces |
Puff embroidery is a structured-cap technique, and beanies do not need it: the knit itself already gives the surface depth. The cuff look is flat, dense stitching, usually a one-line wordmark or a compact badge. If you want dimension on a beanie, a debossed leather patch gets you there better than foam ever will.

A standard cuff gives you roughly a 4 inch wide by 2 inch tall stitch area, and most beanie marks run 2.5 to 3.5 inches wide. Wordmarks and simple badges fit naturally; wide multi-element lockups usually need to be simplified during digitizing to stay legible on the rib.
Not when they are hooped correctly. We stitch over a cutaway stabilizer that anchors the design, so the logo area stays flat while the surrounding knit stretches normally. The stabilizer stays inside the cuff fold where nobody sees or feels it.
Yes, and on chunky or waffle knits it is often the better call. Patches carry small text and fine linework that rib knit swallows, and the sewn-on look fits outdoor and heritage brands. We can run the same patch across beanies and caps for a matched set.
Embroidered beanies start at 24 pieces, and mixing knit colors within the run is no problem since the stitch file does not change. Most crews order one or two thread colorways across three or four knit colors.
