What is DTF printing?

DTF (direct-to-film) printing creates a full-color transfer on a special film using CMYK + white ink, then applies it to the garment with a heat press. The biggest advantage: DTF works on ANY fabric - cotton, polyester, nylon, spandex, blends, and more. It produces vibrant, full-color prints with excellent durability and no dye migration on dark polyester.

Is DTF printing durable?

DTF transfers are extremely durable. The adhesive powder bonds permanently to the fabric under heat and pressure, creating a flexible print that stretches with the garment without cracking. DTF prints withstand 50+ washes and are resistant to fading. They also have zero dye migration on polyester, which is a common problem with other print methods.

What are the advantages of DTF over DTG?

DTF has three main advantages over DTG: (1) Fabric versatility - DTF works on any fabric including polyester and nylon, while DTG only works on cotton. (2) No pre-treatment - DTG requires pre-treating the garment, DTF doesn't. (3) Consistency - DTF transfers look identical on every fabric and color. DTG still wins for the softest hand feel on cotton and for the most photographic detail.
