The Stanley/Stella Creator 2.0 is a 5.3 oz/yd², 100% organic cotton midweight tee with a medium fit, while the Bella+Canvas 3001 is a lighter 4.2 oz/yd² retail-fit tee in Airlume combed and ring-spun cotton. Both print well. The Creator 2.0 brings more weight and named certifications; the 3001 brings a softer feel and a wider color range.

Which one feels heavier?
The Creator 2.0. At 5.3 oz/yd² it sits in the midweight range, so it drapes with more body and is less see-through on light colors. The 3001 at 4.2 oz/yd² is the lighter, thinner shirt many people describe as the soft "retail" tee. A lower singles number means a slightly thicker yarn, which is part of why the Creator 2.0 feels more substantial (24 singles vs 32).
How do the fits compare?
Stanley/Stella calls the Creator 2.0 a medium fit, and the 3001 is sold as a retail fit. In practice that means the 3001 sits a little closer to the body. If your group likes a relaxed, slightly boxier tee, the Creator 2.0 is the closer match. Size charts for every Stanley/Stella style are on our Creator 2.0 page.
Which shirt is better for screen printing, DTG and embroidery?
Both are 100% cotton (except the 3001 in Ash, which is 99/1 cotton/poly), so both take plastisol and water-based screen prints, DTG and light embroidery well.
- Screen printing. Both are cotton jersey, so plastisol and water-based inks both work. The Creator 2.0's heavier fabric suits bold one and two-color designs on a shirt meant to last; the 3001's fine 32-singles yarn gives a smooth face for detailed artwork.
- DTG. Cotton is what DTG ink bonds to, so both are good DTG blanks. On dark colors, both get a white underbase.
- Embroidery. A left chest logo works on either. For a dense logo on a tee, the heavier fabric of the Creator 2.0 gives the stitching more to hold on to.
What are the minimums and turnaround?
Our minimums are 36 pieces per design for screen printing, 24 for embroidery, 12 for DTF, and no minimum for DTG (one shirt is fine). Standard turnaround is about 2-3 weeks after art approval. Rush is available depending on the schedule, so tell us your date.
If your size list runs from XXS, the Creator 2.0 covers it in one style; the 3001 starts at XS. Both go up to 5XL.
Which should you choose?
Pick the Creator 2.0 if you want organic cotton with certifications you can name on a product page or a sustainability report, a midweight shirt that feels premium in the hand, or sizes from XXS to 5XL in one style. Stanley/Stella explains its sourcing and impact data on its sustainability page.
Pick the Bella+Canvas 3001 if you want the lightest, softest feel, a closer retail fit, or an exact color match from a range of 96.

Our take
As an official Stanley/Stella dealer, we are not neutral about the brand, but we are honest about the trade. The 3001 is a great shirt and we will keep printing it. When a client tells us the shirt itself needs to say something, a brand launch, a merch drop, a company that reports on what it buys, we recommend the Creator 2.0 first. The extra weight is easy to feel in the hand, and the certifications are documented by the brand. Browse the full range on our Stanley/Stella hub, or see the Creator 2.0 on Stanley/Stella's site.
