What the jacket price is made of
The embroidery is the same on every jacket. A 5,000-stitch left-chest logo costs $9.63 per piece in the 24 to 47 piece tier and $7.88 in the 48 to 99 piece tier. The rest is the jacket itself, which is why the three land so far apart: the Dickies WJ40 is a heavy, fleece-lined canvas work coat and costs far more as a blank than a soft shell or a nylon coach's jacket.
Two things move a jacket quote up:
- A bigger or busier logo. At about 8,000 stitches, the TT80 at 24 pieces goes from $50.63 to $51.78 per jacket. Our stitch count guide explains how logos are measured.
- Sizes 2XL and up. These carry a supplier upcharge. A TT80 in 2XL is $54.24 per jacket at 24 pieces, against $50.63 for a size L. The calculator prices every size in your mix for you.

The embroidery on a beanie is $7.88 per piece at 24 to 47 pieces and $6.56 at 48 to 99. The SP12 is the cheaper blank and has the bigger color range, including Safety Yellow and Blaze Orange for crews that need to be seen. The camo colors on the SP12 carry an upcharge: a Green Camo SP12 with the same logo is $15.42 per beanie at 24 pieces. The YP Classics 1501KC is a good pick if you want to match a specific shade it carries, such as Spruce, Olive or Carolina Blue.

How we embroider jackets and beanies
Each fabric needs its own setup.
Soft shells. A bonded soft shell like the TT80 has a stretch face, a tricot back and a membrane in between. We match the backing to the fabric and keep the stitch density in check so the logo sits flat and the fabric does not pucker around it. A compact left-chest logo works best. Very large, dense fills on a soft shell are where problems start.
Coach's jackets. The 3100 is a light nylon taffeta shell with a lining. A clean, simple left-chest mark or a monogram reads well on the smooth nylon. If your logo has very fine text, we may suggest simplifying it during digitizing so it stays legible.
Work jackets. Canvas like the WJ40 is a stable base for a logo: the heavy weave supports the stitches and helps the logo sit flat.
Beanies. A rib knit stretches, so we hoop beanies with a cutaway stabilizer behind the cuff. That keeps the stitches dense and flat while the knit still stretches over the head, and the stabilizer stays inside the cuff fold where nobody sees it. A standard cuff gives roughly a 4 inch wide by 2 inch tall stitch area, and most beanie logos run 2.5 to 3.5 inches wide. Wordmarks and simple badges fit naturally. For chunky or waffle knits, a sewn-on leather or woven patch is often the better choice.
